After having your petition approved in one of the fast track categories, you may use one of two steps to obtain your permanent residence:
1. If you are abroad, you may apply for an immigrant visa in your home country at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate which handles immigrant visas. 2. If you are in the United States, you can apply to have the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services adjust your status to permanent residence.
Either procedure leads to the same result: permanent residence (or a green card). Which procedure you should follow depends on the specifics of your case. Contact our office to obtain further details.
