Fast Track Green Cards
What is a "FAST TRACK " Green Card?
A "fast track" green card is an employment-based green card which can be obtained much more quickly than the normal employment-based permanent residence for those who qualify. Expedited processing is available because these green cards do not require a labor certification. In some categories not even a job offer is required.
What categories of aliens can qualify?
- Extraordinary ability aliens
- Certain international managers and executives
- Outstanding professors and researchers
- Members of the professions holding advanced degrees who are exempt from the labor certification requirement or who have national interest waivers
- Aliens of exceptional ability who have national interest waivers
- Labor Certification for Permanent Employment
- Nurses
- Physical therapists enjoy the same fast track to permanent residence as Nurses. They are not required to go through the labor certification process. Further, they qualify for H-1B status.
What are the advantages of these categories?
Normally, it is far less expensive in terms of legal costs. Some aliens have experienced another benefit: when they are seeking employment, some employers will be impressed with the fact that the alien has been accorded the highest possible classification under U.S. immigration laws. It can be a worthwhile addition to one's resume.
